Business Plan Competition

BoP, Manipal University at its International Summit, 09 is organizing a business plan competition to identify, support and connect high potential business ideas with Investors and industries critical to India's development. BoP Summit 2009 is our effort to ignite ideation and sustained growth of the ideas into an impact-driven business that caters the need of Base of the Pyramid. While it is hoped that business plans developed for the BoP Business Plan Contest will reflect real opportunities, there is no obligation for the winners to implement their business plans. More important is that the participants learn about the new venture creation process through their team's efforts, their work with faculty, and their presentations to the judges.

The contest has two primary objectives:

  1. To educate students in the process of creating and evaluating new business ventures; and
  2. To prepare students for opportunities in entrepreneurship sometime during their careers

    • Transformational Green Technology for millions in Rural Areas

Who can participate?
Students of graduate Engineering / Technology and post graduate management students who have a business idea can showcase their understanding of economy, business potential, financials of their business and other aspects to experts from industry, management, financing institutes and the probable investors. The event is just not about presentation to experts but a competition of comprehensive and coining business plan that can secure funding and start up facilities at our Technology Business incubation Centre.

How to submit your business plan
Fill in Bop business plan template (BoP Business Plan Template) and email to bopchair@manipal.edu

 What happens after you submit your plan?
  1. Your plan will enter into the Avishkara process of BoP Innovation. You will receive Avishkara Certificate from BoPChair Manipal University.
  2. During BoP Summit, the finalists will be selected. Top team for each theme will be awarded (Prizes are sponsored by BoP Partners). We will be announcing prizes shortly!!!!
  3. Whether or not you become a finalist, all high quality business plans are eligible for BoP Innovation at Manipal University
