Resource Centre

  • Students, researchers (from MAHE and outside) including M.Sc. /M.A., Ph.D. students and others avail the benefits from the Centre.
  • Non-governmental organizations, voluntary agencies, village institutions avail the benefit from the Centre.
  • Panchayats, youth clubs, mahila mandals, other rural institutions use the resource support from the Centre.
The Centre provided resource support to various other organizations in the spheres of 'training', 'research', 'finalisation of reports', 'discussions', 'consultany' etc. The resource provided includes a wide variety of inputs from varied topics of relevance.

The following institution/organization availed 'resource support' from the centre.
  • United Nations Development Programme.
  • Department of planning, Government of Karnataka.
  • Akshara foundation, Bangalore.
  • Abdul Nazeer Sab State Institute of Rural development, Mysore.
  • Administrative training institute, Mysore.
  • Kuvempu University, Shimoga.
The Centre is involved as a training agency in imparting training to the elected representatives of panchayats, important resource persons and village level officials and others to prepare 'panchayat level planning'.
The Centre is doing this important exercise in Udupi and Karkal taluks. The Centre is also assisting the Udupi Zilla Panchayat at the District Planning Committee level.


Resource Reports

Two research reports pertaining to major research/evaluation works were produced during the year under report. They included the following.
  • Socio-economic impact of religious philanthropy on development in the State of Karnataka - A study in two selected districts with special reference to Sri Kshethra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project".
  • "Religious philanthropy and social development by religious institutions in 10 districts of the State of Karnataka".
  • "Dalit Leadership in Panchayats - Udupi district, Karnataka".
  • "Evaluation report of Village Development Programme "Anthyodaya".
  • Action Research on the Management of Panchayats in Udupi district, Karnataka.
  • The impact of the government sponsored schemes on the socio-economic conditions of the women beneficiaries with special reference to those families headed by women in the five districts of the state of Karnataka.
  • Report on the 'Rural Women Development Project'.
  • Functional and Financial Devolution of Panchayat Raj Institutions in the state of Goa.
