The Research projects under implementation included the following
  • "Impact of Globalization on Agriculture with special reference to small farmers - A study of the State of Karnataka", Major research sanctioned by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi.
  • "Documentation of Community Knowledge", Traditional Knowledge and Oral traditions in eight districts of the State of Karnataka with special reference to Agriculture and Rural practices". Project sanctioned by the department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, New Delhi.
  • Manipal University BoP Research project.
The Centre was sanctioned a research project on 'Changes in Rural Lifestyles in Karnataka' by the M U BoP Chair at Manipal University.

  • "Devolution of Powers and Finances under Panchayat Raj Institutions - A Study of Goa State" funded by the 11th Finance Commission, Government of India and co-coordinated by the National Institute of Rural Development, Hyderabad.
  • "Study of the impact of government sponsored schemes on 'women groups' in five districts of the State of Karnataka", funded by the Women and Child Development Department, Ministry of HRD, New Delhi.
  • "Study of the functioning of women Self Help Groups in 12 villages of Dakshina Kannada district, Karnataka" funded by Karl Kubel Stiftung, Germany.
  • "Action research on the Management of Panchayats in Udupi district", funded by the Ministry of Rural Development, Department of Panchayat Raj, New Delhi.
  • "Study of the contribution of religious institutions on social development in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts with special reference to Sri Kshethra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project" funded by Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi.
  • "Study of contribution of religious institutions on social development of 10 districts in the State of Karnataka" funded by Ford Foundation, New Delhi through Project on Non-Profits, Mysore University, Mysore.
  • "Dalit Leadership in Panchayats" funded by PRIA, New Delhi.
  • "Study of 'Mahila Nidhi Groups" - Women Self Help Groups in Mangalore and Bantwal taluks of Dakshina Kannada districts
